The truth is that the world of Shadowrun is compelling and interesting. This series is designed to be an entry point to the setting. They do that admirably. The book is not perfect. It jumps around a bit too much. The narrative flow is unclear at points, and there are plot points which are just left hanging with out any sense that it was a deliberate choice. That said, the overall plot is compelling if not well explained. The characters are interesting and well realized. The action is fun and light. Read book one first, and maybe read a summary of Shadowrun's setting to get the most out of the series.Product details

this trilogy is the absolute must be read. it covers most aspect of shadowrun troll, ork, elfs, human, dragons, mega corpo, matrix, magic, all this wrapped un a pasionate story
The Sam Verner Shadowrun trilogy is by far the best in terms of Shadowrun novels, both in character development and also in plot. Read them 20 years ago in hard copy and now on kindle. My opinion hasn't changed
It was a good read.
Revisiting this series. Originally read from borrowed paperbacks, out of print. Delighted it is now available again. After so many years I'm able to reread it and rediscover its surprises and plot twists.
The second book in the series, I really like the character advancement, new players, and the widening story.
Fast, fun, and action-packed.
The main character moralized a bit too much for my taste. But I still enjoyed it.
I gave this 3 stars for two reasons 1) like the previous book in this series on kindle, I found 10-15 typos (which I reported); 2) the artwork from the paperback book is not included, which I think it should be. I can live with the typos, but at least restore the original artwork for crying out loud!
